Group Expectations

What are your group goals for the project? What do you want to accomplish? What quality of work do you expect from each group member, and what strategies will you employ to ensure that you fulfill those standards? How will you encourage ideas from all group members?

Our goal is to create a final product that we are proud to share. We want to work together to create a product that empowers Chanda’s story and shares it creatively. We expect everyone to take the time to care about the importance of sharing the story publicly. We will keep each other focused on working and meet deadlines. We will respect all group members opinions and suggestions.

Group Procedures

What program are you going to use (iMovie, Moviemaker, etc.)? If not all group members have this program, how are you going to manage the workload (e.g., using campus computers, working collaboratively, etc.)? How are you going to organize and share your files? Where are you going to store/share files? How are you going to name files (e.g., name and date? Name, date, and initials of last person who edited/saved file?)? When and where are you going to meet (Days/Times/Location) while working on this project? How are you going to communicate between meetings/class?

We are going to use iMovie because we all own Macs. Also, we all have access to the Mac Lab to work on it. We will try to all be together each time we edit, but we understand that that will not always be the case. We will communicate often about edits before we do anything to the file. We will be sure to keep all our files in multiple places, including laptop folders and flash drives. We will name files with “name_date_initials” and we can share them often. We will meet on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in GHH G06. We will communicate through a group text message, as we already do.

Personal Accountability

Define each group member’s expected level of responsibility for attending meetings, responding to communication from other group members, and completing assigned tasks on time. Describe how the group will handle a member who does not comply with contract. What are the consequences?

Everyone is expected to attend group meetings unless there is a serious reason not to. If the group is relying on one member to complete a task, they need to fulfill this responsibility. Everyone should provide their thoughts on any major decisions and be sure to always respond to group messages when required. If a member does not do their part, they will know the will be confronted - not just allowed to continue - and their actions will be communicated to the professor.
